Itinerary:

DAY 1. MELBOURNE / AMSTERDAM via HONG KONG

Depart for Amsterdam via Hong Kong by Cathay Pacific Airways flight CX104 at 2:20 pm at Melbourne International Airport. On arrival at Hong Kong at about 10:05 pm then connect-up with Cathay Pacific Airways flight CX271 departing at 12:05 am for Amsterdam.

 

DAY 2. ARRIVING AT AMSTERDAM

Your overnight flight arrives Amsterdam at about 6:45 am this morning. After ground formalities, you will be met and greeted by our tour manager who will then take us to visit the canal-laced city of Amsterdam. We board an informative cruise on a glass-domed boat and travel alongside 16-17th century merchant houses and homes. Then we visit Gassan, where we can see the sparkling gems, then process to Clog Rambrandt and perhaps purchase a pair of these wooden shoes for yourself before we tour the factory.

DAY 3. AMSTERDAM

Today we tour the cities of Delft, where the blue and white china are created in the Delft pottery works. This old town area boasts to having the best university establishment in Holland (almost on par with Cambridge or Harvard). We also visit Hague, the political capital of the country, followed by Madurodam, the miniature Holland. Afternoon is left for some shopping time by the Dam square. Tonight, we have a night visit to the Red light area, for some adult performances or if you prefer, just to enjoy a stroll around this area.

DAY 4. AMSTERDAM / KOLN / RHINE AREA

We head for Germany along the River Rhine. Stops will be made at the Koln cathedral in the afternoon for a break and visit, before your chance to try some local beer and white sausages by the Dom. At Lorely Rock, listen to the stories of the wicket princess, who finally ended her life as a foam in the water. We make a stroll down the student prince city of Heidelberg, where time is spent on the hauptstrasse for window browsing and to enjoy the student city. Not far above the valley of the Neckar, are the 13C old red sandstone castle and its hugh balcony.

DAY 5. NEW SWAN CASTLE / MUNICH / ROMANTIC ROUTE/ REUTTE

Depart for touring. We will visit Bavavria Motor Works building, better known as BMW. The tour of the centre of town will only be brief because we need to rush to New Swan Castle (castle visit is not possible due to long day,so only free time at the foot of the mountain). Then across the Romantic Route, for a glimpse of New Swan Castle- appears to look like a pendant made from ivory on the alps.

DAY 6. REUTTE Village / INNSBRUCK / VERONA area

After breakfast, we stop at the winter ski resort Innsbruck which is a short drive away. Not far from here is the Arch de Triumph; the Hofkirche mausoleum, the Hofburg Royal Palace (built by Maria Theresa) and a host of splendid Baroque buildings. Drive through the region of Tryol, where we get to see the famous Austrian Europe Bridge and recall the tragic incident when many risked their lives to create this highest viaduct in Europe some 50 years ago.

DAY 7. VENICE / ROVIGO / CORRIGGIO AREA

Depart for Venice where you have the entire day to savour this water city. Experience the public ferry to cruise along the grand canal and then an orientation walk with your tour manager, not forgetting St. Mark’s square, with the Winged Lion and statue of St. Mark, not too far from the petite Bridge of Sigh.

DAY 8. ROVIGO / FLORENCE / ROME

After breakfast, depart for Florence walking tour – we have a panoramic view of this open-air museum from the great balcony of Michaelangelo hill before heading for the handicraft market by Peruzzi leather factory before setting off for another great city - the eternal Rome.

DAY 9. ROME WALKING TOUR

Soon after breakfast we will depart for Rome by one-way coach. Once we got to Rome, we will discover this city by via a public transport and walking tour. We follow the tour manager around one of europe’s earliest powers – the illustrious Roman Empire. Tours of the city includes the ancient Roman Amphitheatre – the Colosseum, the Presidential Palace on Quirinal Hill, followed by the Trevi Fountain, piazza Venezia, Circus Maximus and the Monument of Victor Emmanuel II, walk through St. Peter’s Square and the Vatican City, the smallest sovereign state in the world. Not to be missed is a place to bask in the roman atmosphere right in Navona Square. Here, Bernini’s art lives in perpetuity, displayed proudly in the centre is his “ Fountain of four Rivers’.

DAY 10. ROME / PISA / TURINO

After breakfast we head off for Pisa – the age-old world wonder, the religious centre of this city which owns three amazing monuments completely decorated with white marble from the Carrara quarries- certainly breath-stopping. This work of art is not only exhibited on its exquisite exterior, but we encourage you to explore the Baptistery as well as the cathedral, where you will be overwhelmed with awe by the intricacy of the stone works. This evening, we settle down into the foot of the Italian Alps high up in the region of Piemonte.

DAY 11. TURINO / NEMOURS

Today we depart for France via the townships and cities of Chambery; Grenoble; and Lyon aiming as far as one of the most scintillating cities in the world – Paris!!

DAY 12. NEMOURS / PARIS

After breakfast, we will be visiting the splendour and historical events of the jewel city, we see Notre Dame, one of the most beautiful churches in the world and a masterpiece of medieval art. The Arcde Triomphhe, Champs-Elysees, Place de la Concorde, Trocadero Gardens, the Opera House and the Grande Dame of Paris-Eiffel.

DAY 13. PARIS TOURING

Our trusty coach and tour manager are both ready to show you first hand the splendor of Versailles. You shall visit
around a dozen of the chambers and salons, including the renewly renovated Hall of Mirrors. In the afternoon, continue with tour to the highest point of Paris at Montmatre.

DAY 14. LUXUMBERG / BRUSSELS / LEURIN / WAVRE

Our coach continues to Luxumberg this morning. Upon arrival, we enjoy a nice city tour and after lunch, we go to Brussels. Entering Brussels, we stop at the Atomium and the Chinese Pavilion- both were built for the 1958 World Fair. Our tour manager will take us through to the Grand Place surrounded by gold gilded gables. This evening, we spend our night in the township of Wavre.

DAY 15. CALAIS PORT to LONDON

Depart for Calais for P/O ferry to the UK, upon arrival, coach to dinner and then hotel for check in.

DAY 16. LONDON

London is indeed a world class city, with various places to eat, shop and enjoy art! In the morning we enjoy an orientation around town with a full sightseeing program. If time permits we will stroll around Trafalgar Square which is the heart and centre of London. Other highlights include a photostop at Buckingham Palace.

DAY 17. BATH CITY / HONG KONG

Today, we visit the ancient World Heritage site of Bath. See the significant Roman Bath, to Bath abbey and the Royal Crescent and the Thermae Bath Spa with the Pump Room. We continue to see Stonehenge, superbly situated in southern England's rural heartland, few destinations can match the amazing diversity of it - with a history dating back over 5,000 years now wonder it is also like Bath, a UNESCO world heritage site. This evening, we end our
tour at Heathrow for flight home. We will fly out with Cathay Pacific Airways flight CX256 departing at 8:20 pm for Hong Kong. (B, L, meals on board plane)

DAY 18. ARRIVING AT HONG KONG

Your overnight flight will arrive Hong Kong at about 5:50 p.m. After ground formalities, you will be met and transferred to Prudential Hotel.

DAYS 19 and 20. HONG KONG

Free arrangements during these two-days in Hong Kong – shopping, visiting friends and relatives or just “Shop till you Drop” in this shopping paradise of the world!!!

DAY 21. HONG KONG / MELBOURNE

Free activities until transfers to the airport for the Cathay Pacific Airways flight CX135 departing at 7:10 pm for Melbourne.

DAY 22. ARRIVE MELBOURNE

Your overnight flight will arrive Melbourne at about 6:20 am today thus, concluding this wonderful journey!!
