16 day China Delights Tour

Day 1 - HOME/GUANGZHOU

This evening, we board our China Southern Airlines flight bound for Chongqing, China with a stopover in Guangzhou along the way.

Day 2 - GUANGZHOU/CHONGQING

After a few hours transit in Guangzhou airport, our connecting flight will take us to Chongqing - a sprawling municipality at the confluence of the Yangtze and Jialing rivers in southwestern China. After we meet our local guide, a 40-minute drive into town for our first group lunch. Afterwards, check in at hotel and then enjoy some leisure time to explore Jie-Fang-Bei and Chao-Tian-Men pedestrian streets. We will then regroup for dinner later tonight.

Day 3 - CHONGQING

The day's itinerary begins with a morning call and breakfast, followed by a departure for Da-Zu, traveling by coach to cover a distance of 110 km. Upon arrival, the group will visit the World Cultural Heritage site of the Da-Zu Grottoes, which includes a buggy transfer and scenic interpretation. After lunch, head back to Chongqing by coach. The next stop will be the popular Hongya Caves for photo opportunities. After dinner, our group will have a chance to enjoy a night view of Chongqing from a two-river cruise, taking in the sights along the Yangtze and Jialing Rivers. The day will conclude with a return to the hotel.

Day 4 - CHONGQING

The day begins with a morning call followed by breakfast. Afterward, the group will take a one-way cable car across the Yangtze River for stunning views. Participants will then enjoy a walking experience through the charming step-lanes of Chongqing. Lunch will be served before heading to E-Ling-Er-chang and the vibrant Graffiti Art streets. In the afternoon, the group will visit the Li-zi-ba observation platform, known for its unique metro crossing through a building. The day will conclude with a flavourful hot pot dinner before returning to the hotel.

Day 5 - CHONGQING/GUIYANG/TONGREN

Today after breakfast, we proceed to take a bullet train to Zun-Yi rail station in Guiyang which will last a bit over an hour (2 class ticket included). After lunch, continue your journey to Tongren, home to Fanjing mountain, which is approximately a three-hour coach ride away. Once there, explore the majestic scenes of Yamuguo Scenic Park with buggy transfers. The day will conclude with dinner before heading to the hotel for check-in.

Day 6 - TONGREN/XIJIANG

After breakfast, head to Fanjing mountain National Scenic Park for a morning of exploration, where you’ll enjoy a round-trip buggy ride through scenic trails and breathtaking views from the cable car, capturing the stunning landscapes and unique rock formations. Following this, enjoy authentic regional flavours at a local restaurant for lunch. Afterwards we embark on a scenic 3.5-hour coach ride to Xi-Jiang, soaking in the picturesque countryside while learning about the area's rich history. We should arrive into Xi-Jiang in the afternoon for hotel check in and dinner.

Day 7 - XIJIANG/GUIYANG

This morning, we visit the stunning Xi-Jiang 1000-Family Miao Ethnic Village (with buggy transfers), known for its rich culture and picturesque landscape. In this region, explore unique wooden architecture, traditional crafts, and terraced rice fields, interacting with the local Miao people to learn about their customs. Following lunch, we board our coach for a scenic journey back to Guiyang. Upon arrival we visit the serene Qianling Mountain Park, perfect for enjoying lush greenery, before heading to the iconic Jia-Xiu-Lou, a historical pavilion overlooking the Nanming River. Conclude the day with a delightful dinner at a local restaurant before checking into your hotel.

Day 8 - GUIYANG/KUNMING

The day begins with a morning call and breakfast, followed by a coach journey to Anshun. Upon arrival, participants will explore the stunning Huang-Guo-Shu Waterfall National 5A Scenic Park, complete with a buggy ride and lift for a closer view of the falls. After lunch, the group will head to the Anshun Railway Station to catch a bullet train to Kunming (2nd class ticket included). Upon arrival into Kunming in the evening, we will have dinner and then check in at hotel for rest.

Day 9 - KUNMING

This morning, we embark on a picturesque 1.5-hour coach ride to the striking Stone Forest, a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site (with buggy transfers). Here, they'll have the chance to marvel at the awe-inspiring limestone formations that soar dramatically, creating an almost surreal landscape. Stunning views and intriguing geological features await as they wander through this natural wonder, perfect for capturing unforgettable photographs. After lunch we journey back to Kunming. In the afternoon, a guided tour will take participants through the historic Old Kunming pedestrian streets (such as Zhengyi Road), where they can appreciate the traditional architecture, vibrant street markets, and the area’s rich cultural heritage. The evening's highlight will be dinner, followed by the grand performance of “Dynamic Yunnan,” showcasing the diverse cultures and traditions of the province through captivating music and dance.

Day 10 - KUNMING/DALI

Start the day with a morning call and breakfast. Afterwards, proceed to Western Hills Scenic Park and once here enjoy a scenic bus tour, followed by a cable car ride and a buggy ride to explore the park, including the Dragon Gate. Following the morning's adventures, enjoy lunch before heading to Dali, which is about a 4.5-hour coach journey. Upon arrival in Dali, you will have dinner and then check into your hotel for the night.

Day 11 - DALI

After a nice overnight rest and breakfast, we head to Erhai Lake's Cai-cun wharf via buggy, where you can marvel at the stunning ecological corridor, making several stops along the lakeside for photo opportunities to capture the beauty of the landscape. After a break for lunch, we visit the Bai Nationality’s Xizhou village to enjoy an engaging cultural show and participate in a traditional tea ceremony, learning about the significance of each tea and the accompanying rituals. In the afternoon, you’ll delve into Bai ethnic heritage with a DIY cheese workshop, creating your own delicious cheese, and then take part in a cloth tie-dye workshop to learn traditional techniques. The evening concludes with a delightful dinner, after which you’ll enjoy free time to explore the enchanting Dali old town, strolling through its winding streets and soaking in the vibrant atmosphere.

Day 12 - DALI/LIJIANG

Start your day with a morning call and breakfast before proceeding to Lijiang for a three-hour coach ride. Upon arrival into Lijiang, our guide will take us out to lunch at a local restaurant. Afterwards, visits to Black Dragon Pond Park for sightseeing, where you can capture stunning photos of Snow Mountain's reflection. Next, embark on a guided tour of the UNESCO-listed Lijiang Old Town, exploring its three wells, picturesque square streets, and charming streams. Conclude the day with dinner before checking into your hotel for the night.

Day 13 - LIJIANG

We begin our second day in Lijiang with a visit to Jade-Dragon Snow Mountain National Park. Once there, enjoy a two-way scenic bus transfer to the cable car station (during this time, it can be quite busy and so will need to take into account waiting in line). You'll then take a two-way cable car ride to the peak called Glacier Park, where you can explore stunning sights at an elevation of 4,608 meters for about 1.5 hours. *Special note—if you feel sick at this altitude you can make your way down beforehand and wait for the group* Afterwards, enjoy lunch before experiencing the grand show of "Impression Lijiang," directed by Zhang Yimou. Next, head to visit the picturesque White Water River and Blue Moon Valley for photos and sightseeing.

Day 14 - LIJIANG

This morning, we visit Tiger-Leaping Gorge, enjoying a scenic coach ride about 1.5 hours away. Upon arrival, explore the Grand Tiger-Leaping Gorge Scenic Park, where you can take in the breathtaking views via the two-way escalator. After sightseeing and lunch, we journey back to Lijiang. Here, we visit the Lashi Lake Wetland Park, renowned for its bird conservation. The day concludes with dinner and rest back at hotel for preparation for your flight back home the next day.

Day 15 - LIJIANG/GUANGZHOU/HOME

In the afternoon we will board our flight from Lijiang to Guangzhou. After a few hours transit, we will board our overnight flight back for home.
