Day 1 - MELBOURNE/DOHA

This afternoon, we board our Qatar airways flight bound for Doha.

Day 2 - DOHA/KILIMANJARO (Tanzania) / ARUSHA

Our group will arrive into Kilimanjaro International Airport early this morning. A representative will be waiting for us and then we will be given a short trip briefing us on expect on our way to to Arusha. This day will be mostly a day of rest which includes lunch and dinner.

Day 3 - ARUSHA/LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK

After a hearty breakfast, begin your journey to Lake Manyara National Park. Lake Manyara is a scenic gem, with a setting that Ernest Hemingway described as “the loveliest I had seen in Africa ''. Lake Manyara offers a virtual microcosm of the Tanzanian safari experience with hundreds of baboons and over 400 bird species in its lush jungle-like forest. This area is famous for lions climbing the trees.

Day 4 - LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK/SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK

This morning we depart for Serengeti National Park for our part 1 of the safari tour. Serengeti was voted #1 Safari destination in the world. Its majestic, awe-inspiring beauty is something one should experience, at least once, in a lifetime. Panoramic views, amazing wildlife and spectacular photos! Serengeti is the last natural grazing ecosystem in the world, home to The Great Wildebeest Migration, the “greatest wildlife show on Earth”. Serengeti is said to have over 3 million large mammals and nearly 500 species of birds, plenty of opportunities to see the “Big 5" in one day - Lion, Rhino, Elephant, Leopard and African Buffalo.

Day 5 - SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK

Today after breakfast, we continue our exploration of the Serengeti Safari tour. Discover…Explore…Experience… different areas of this magnificent park, one of 10 Natural Travel Wonders of the World, with its sprawling savanna, short-grass plains and granite kopjes. This is the neverending story of the vast grandeur of the Serengeti.

Besides visiting the park, there will be an extra optional activity for an unforgettable and scenic Hot Air Balloon (pricing to be advised but should be approx 550USD per person). For the clients that are choosing this option, check out and depart at 4am for the Hot air balloon site . At sunrise board the balloon and enjoy a 45 minute flight over the Serengeti. On return to landing base ,enjoy an amazing breakfast in the middle of the Serengeti.

Day 6 - SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK/NGORONGORO CONSERVATION AREA/LAKE MANYARA

As we make our way back to Lake Manyara, our group today will drop into the UNESCO Heritage site of Ngorongoro Crater - largest unbroken caldera in the world. Boasts most diverse group of animals anywhere. About 20 kms across, 600 metres deep and 300 sq kms in area, Ngorongoro Crater is a breathtaking natural wonder. Known as “cradle of humankind”.

Day 7 - LAKE MANYARA/JOHANNESBURG

Early this morning, we will head off to the Kilimanjaro airport for our flight to Johannesburg (most likley this flight will involve a stopover in Nairobi. We expect to arrive into Johannesburg late in the afternoon and our local guide will meet and gree us upon arrival. Then we check in at hotel for rest and then dinner.

Day 8 - JOHANNESBURG/LIVINGSTONE (VICTORIA FALLS)

After our one night stay in Johannesburg (we will come back later!) we head off again to the airport for our flight to Livingstone airport which will be the gateway to the amazing Victoria Falls. Upon arrival, our group head off to lunch and then check in hotel to unpack for the next few days. In the evening, watch the sun slip below the horizon on a cruise of the Zambezi river. Watch as diverse animals flock to the water's edge and witness flocks of birds as they swoop and glide across the sky whilst soaking up the last rays of African sunshine. After dinner, we check back into our hotel for much needed rest.

Day 9 - VICTORIA FALLS (ZAMBIA SIDE)

After breakfast, we follow our local guide for a relaxing walking tour of Victoria Falls on the Zambian side. Victoria Falls is neither the widest nor highest waterfall in the world, but it's the world's largest sheet of falling water. It is twice the height of North America's Niagara Falls, and is only rivalled by Iguazu Falls in South America. It is 108m tall and 1708m wide. After the tour, it will be after-noon at leisure (Optional helicopter ride of the falls - cost to be advised). For tonight, revel in a feast of fun at The Boma dinner and drum show while enjoying non-stop entertainment culminating in an interactive drumming show.

Day 10 - VICTORIA FALLS/BOTSWANA/VICTORIA FALLS

Very early this morning, after breakfast we will cross overland to Botswana. Today will be a chance to experience the Chobe land safari with lunch. Chobe National Park is in northern Botswana near the vast, inland Okavango Delta. It's known for its large herds of elephants and Cape buffalo, which converge along the Chobe Riverfront in the dry months. Lions, antelopes and hippos inhabit the woods and lagoons around Linyanti Marsh. The floodable grasslands of the Savuti Marsh attract numerous bird species, plus migrating zebras. After the safari tour, we head back to our Victoria Falls resort at the end of the day.

Day 11 - VICTORIA FALLS/CAPE TOWN

We bid farewell to Victoria Falls region and board our flight to Capetown. There will most likely be a stopover enroute to our destination. Upon checking in, your local guide will assist with hotel check in and then dinner.

Day 12 - CAPE TOWN

Breakfast followed by full day Mother City Tour with today's highlights including Castle of Good Hope, Bo Kaap Cape Malay Quarters, Robben Island followed by the landmark table moutain cable car ride to enjoy the sunset. A coming-together of cultures, cuisines and landscapes, there's nowhere quite like Cape Town, a singularly beautiful city!

Day 13 - PENINSULA TOUR

A jam packed day awaits us today! Visit Hout Bay for a boat ride to Seal Island. Thereafter, marvel at the African Jackass Penguins at Boulders Beach. After lunch, visit Simonstown ,the coastal village is the gateway to the Marine Big 5 of False Bay with a treasured maritime heritage. Thereafter, visit Cape Point Nature Reserve ,which falls within the southern section of Table Mountain National park. Ride on the Flying Dutchman funicular to the lighthouse and enjoy the panoramic views. Cape Point is where 2 Oceans meet - The cold waters of the Atlantic Ocean West and the warm water of the Indian Ocean East.

Day 14 - CAPE WINELANDS TOUR

After breakfast, we head out for our Cape Winelands tour – renowned for its crisp white and classic French-style red wines, fantastic cheeses and olives, it also has a stunning wealth of natural rustic beauty with vast estates shaded from the African sunshine by giant oak trees and towering mountains overlooking lush valleys. We also visit and explore the Cape Winelands’ principal route – see the famous and renowned towns of Paarl, Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. Look forward to a day filled with fine wines, great food and spectacular scenery.

Day 15 - CAPE TOWN/GARDEN ROUTE/KNYSNA

After breakfast, we take the famed Garden Route to Knysna. The Garden Route is one of the most popular road trips for families and for good reason - it is packed with things to see and do. Our group will take route number 62, a road which will take you through towns such as Robertson, Barrydale, Calitizdorp and Oudtshoorn. Overnight in Knysna.

Day 16 - KNYSNA/OUDTSHOORN/KNYSNA

This morning promises to be an exciting day in which we will visit the town of Oudtshoorn. Our activities today will include the Cango Caves Heritage tour, Cango crocodile farm and then the Highgate Ostrich farm tour and lunch. In the afternoon we return to Knysna for a sunset lagoon dinner.

Day 17 - KNYSNA/JOHANNESBURG

After breakfast, we make our way to George airport for our short flight to Johannesburg. Upon arrival, our local guide will greet us and take us on a Lesedi Cultural Village tour (if there is not enough time, we will move this to the next day). Lesedi Cultural Village is a tourist village which celebrates the cultural traditions of several different peoples of Southern Africa. It reproduces traditional dwellings and offers demonstrations of dances and other cultural activities. Afterwards, we check in our hotel and dinner.

Day 18 - JOHANNESBURG TOUR

This morning we go on the Johannesburg and Soweto tour – The legacy of apartheid and the incredible stories of the immense resistance to it come intensely to life on this expertly guided tour – This is a full day tour in which we visit icons of the ‘struggle’ which include Apartheid Museum, Mandela Square and Bridge, Mandela House, Vilazi street, Hector Pieterson Museum, Gandhi Square, Gold Reef City and more.

Day 19 - JOHANNESBURG/DOHA/MELBOURNE

Very early this morning we take a boxed breakfast and drive to Johannesburg airport for our Qatar airways flight bound for Doha. Once you have boarded the plane, sit back and relax and gloss over all the amazing photos you have taken during the course of this amazing itinerary. We will have a short transit in Doha before reboarding our connecting flight for Melbourne.

Day 20 - ARRIVE MELBOURNE

Our overnight flight arrives back into Melbourne this afternoon and from all of us at Friendly Travel, we hope enjoyed this tour!
