Day 1 – Melbourne / Guangzhou

This evening we embark on our exciting journey on board our flight with China Southern Airlines bound for Guangzhou.

Day 2 – Guangzhou / Shanghai 

We arrive early in the morning in Guangzhou and after a few hours of transit, we board our connecting flight to Shanghai. Our Friendly guide will pick us up and head into our hotel and afterwards, we go out for our first dinner.

Day 3 – Shanghai – Suzhou – Hangzhou 

After breakfast in hotel, check out and drive to Suzhou city nearby (1hr’s drive). Today’s highlight is the Lingering Garden, which is one of the great four gardens in China and which is known for exquisite architectural art. Covering an area of 23,300 square meters, Lingering Garden is also the large classical private garden in China. It was built in the Qing Dynasty style. After that, you will visit the Panmen Gate, the only existing water and land gate in China. As the end of today’s visit, we will have a stop at No. 1 Silk Factory, where you will have chance to see a display of the life-cycle of the silk worm and demonstrations of how the silk is harvested from the cocoons and eventually woven into fabric. Head for Hangzhou at the end of the day. (about 3hr’s drive)

Day 4 – Hangzhou 

Today, you will have a leisure visit to West Lake with boat trip on the lake. West Lake is a like a shining pearl inlaid on the vast land of China, reputed for beautiful scenery, a multitude of historical sites, brilliant cultural relics, and a profusion of native products. And then visit Lingyin Temple, one of the top ten most famous ancient Buddhist monasteries in China, also one of the largest and wealthiest Buddhist temples in China, and contains numerous pagodas and Buddhist grottoes. In the afternoon, drive to Meijiawu Tea Culture Village, which is considered the best to return to the nature. With its idyllic beauty, the tea farmer will take you to the mountain area and you will be impressed by the tea terraces of high and low hill-slops. In the village, you will have chance to experience Chinese tea culture. Before going back to hotel, you will have a leisure time along Hefang Street, where stands lots of shops and restaurants, and which has been the political, cultural and business center of Hangzhou since the Southern Song Dynasty.

Day 5 – Hangzhou – Wudang Mountain 

Wake up in the early morning and take flight to Wudang Mountain, which is one of the well-known Taoist sanctuaries in China, covering an area of more than 77,000 acres. Today you will take a boat trip on the Taichi Lake, and then visit the Yuxu Palace, one of the largest palaces among the Wudang architectural complex, which was first built in the Yongle Period (1403-1424) of the Ming Dynasty. Overnight at the foot of the mountain.

Day 6 – Wudang 

A whole day visit in the Wudang Mountain including Prince Slope, Nanyan Palace, Purple Heaven Palace, Xiaoyao Valley and Golden Summit. The ancient buildings of Mount Wudang are aligned in accordance with the legend of the immortal practice of Zhenwu and were built in accordance with the royal standards of Ming Dynasty. Effects of the buildings are so mysterious and supernatural that people might think that the buildings are made by the gods themselves. Khosla, expert of UN, said that “Mount Wudang is the most beautiful place in the world for it has combined the ancient wisdoms, historical buildings and natural scenes all together.”

Day 7 – Wudang – Chengdu

We continue our visit in Wudang Mountain this morning. After lunch, transfer to airport for your flight to Chengdu city. Pick up and check in hotel in the late evening.

Day 8 – Chengdu – Leshan – Emei 

In the morning after breakfast we visit the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Pandas. Then we have a 1.5 hours drive to Mt. Leshan – has the tallest stone Buddha statue in the world. Just take a cruise (about 30 min) to have an overview of this mountain and the Leshan Giant Buddha. After that, continue to have a 1 hour driving to Mt. Emei area. Visit the Temples on foot of the mountain

Day 9 – Emei Mountain 

Rising 3,099 meters (10,167 ft.) above sea level about 170 kilometers (105 miles) from Chengdu, Mount Emei is the highest of China’s four holy Buddhist mountains. A legend claims that the mountain was where Samantabhadra gave lectures on Buddhism and most temples house a statue of him. Today you will have a whole day tour to do sightseeing in Mt. Emei including a cable car to the Golden Summit. get down the mountain and tonight you will stay overnight in the Hot spring resort,

Day 10 – Emei – Chengdu – Kunming 

Drive back to Chengdu this morning and upon arrival, visit Wuhou Temple, which was built to memorize Zhuge Liang, the distinguished statesman and strategist during the Three Kingdom Period. For his accomplishments as the minister and great personality, he gained the name of Martial Marquis after his death. Then visit Jinli Old Street – an elegant style of the architectures tells you what Sichuan looked like during the Qing Dynasty. Today’s lunch will be a traditional “hot pot” and afterwards we take flight to Kunming in the evening. Pick up and transfer to check in hotel.

Day 11 – Kunming – Shilin – Kunming 

Today’s highlight is Stone Forest National Geographic Park at southeast of Kunming (about 3hr’s drive). The Stone Forest is made up of countless awesome natural rock formations that will truly boggles your mind.

Day 12 – Kunming – Dali

Head for Dali by coach in the morning which is approximately a 4hr drive. Visit  the famous Three Pagodas of Chongsheng Monastery. Then you have chance to ascend on the Ancient City Wall of Dali and explore the ancient town. Tonight you will stay at the hotel in Dali.

Day 13 – Dali – Lijiang 

Take a boat trip on Erhai Lake, You will be greeted with the show of Three Courses of Tea which is the genuine tea ceremony of the Bai minority, and treated to a song & dance performance by local Bai people on board. In the afternoon, drive to Lijiang city for overnight.

Day 14 – Lijiang

Today, we arrive to the spectacular Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, which is the largest snow mountain in the Northern Hemisphere. You will first enjoy the beautiful landscape at the Baishui River (White Water River). It flows at the foot of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. The riverbed is made up of white marble and lime stones and the river looks white, hence the name of White River (Baishui).Then proceed to Jade Water Village – a sacred place of the Dongba people. Here, you will visit a local Naxi family to get a close touch to the daily life of Naxi Minority. Afterwards catch a cable car  to the summit of the Yak Meadow, one of 13 peaks of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. The landscape rises and falls on the meadow. In spring and summer, you can find yaks with black and white skin wandering in grass and all kinds of flowers. In autumn and winter, you will wonder at the sharp contrast between the mild edge of the meadow and the peaks of the snow mountain. The view is unforgettable. In the afternoon, you will have some free time in the Dayan Ancient Town.

Day 15 – Lijiang – Guangzhou 

This morning have a relaxing time in the hotel and then we go to visit Black Dragon Pond and then have some free time visiting  in the Shuhe Ancient Town. In the afternoon, go to airport for our flight for Guangzhou which departs at about 6:10pm. Arrive into Guangzhou for our late – check in hotel and rest.

Day 16 – Guangzhou 

Guangzhou is a large industrial city on the banks of the Pearl river. The city was known to westerners as Canton during the period of foreign occupation and still has a strong expatriate community. Enroute city tour in coach, our guide will show you how the city developed. Today you will visit the city symbol, a Five Rams Statue in Yuexiu Park, the Chen Clan Academy, the Nanyue King Museum, the Sun Yat San Memorial Hall, so as the flower Plaza in CBD area. Guangzhou is also famous for its cuisine. Tonight ‘s feast is Roast Suckling pig.

Day 17 – Guangzhou – Shenzhen 

In the morning, transfer by coach to Shenzhen (about 2hr’s drive). Then begin your exploration of this interesting city. After lunch, visit the Mineral Museum and the China Folk Culture Village. Overnight in Shenzhen.

Day 18 – Shenzhen / Melbourne

This morning after breakfast you will have most of the morning at leisure. By mid afternoon your coach will pick you up and transfer you to the airport for your China Southern airlines flight home.

Day 19 – Arrive  Melbourne

Your overnight flight arrives back into Melbourne this morning and we hope you had a great time!
