Day 1 – Melbourne / Dubai

Ready for this exciting tour to see the best of Southern Europe? This afternoon our group will meet at the airport to board our Emirates flight bound for Dubai.

Day 2 – Dubai / Madrid

Early this morning we arrive into Dubai for a short transit and then reboard our flight bound for Madrid.
Welcome to Spain! Upon arrival your trusty long distance coach and local guide will soon bring you on a quick orientation about town. Then check in at hotel for rest and dinner at hotel after a long flight.

Day 3 – Madrid

After breakfast we tour of Madrid. Starting with the Royal Palace (pre-booking, if closed we will visit Prado Museum instead). Then drive around for orientation of the sights includes: the University City and the Casa del Campo park. See Barrio de la Moreiria, the elegant square of Puerta de Sol – Spain’s favourite plaza, the landmark fountain of Neptune and Cibeles, the impressive Alcala Arch, the Bullring, the New Madrid and finally Plaza Mayor, the most important architectural and historical landmark in Madrid, built in the 17th century where one can find numerous shops, markets, lively theatres and restaurants.

Day 4 – Madrid / Avila / Salamanca

Morning depart for Avila, the old Spanish town of Ávila for a photo-stop and its splendid Cathedral and old town before arriving at Salamanca. Upon arrival Salamanca enjoy a walking tour with your tour manager who will show you the oldest University city of the country famous for its medieval monuments. Other visits include Plaza Major and enchanting sandstone architecture that surrounds you.

Day 5 – Salamanca / Porto

Today, we leave Spain and drive westerly towards the city of Porto, Portugal. Porto is the second largest city in Portugal and is rapidly becoming one of Europe’s most respected tourist destinations. When we arrive to Porto, enjoy a relaxing river boat cruise on the canals of Porto and soon you’ll understand why it has been named the “Venice of Portugal”. Enjoy a bit of free time in the city centre before dinner.

Day 6 – Porto / Fatima / Lisbon

This morning we visit Fátima, one of the most important Catholic shrines in the world. Here we see the Chapel of Apparitions at the heart of the sanctuary where four million pilgrims converge yearly. A scenic drive through the magnificent Serra d’Aire Mountains will bring you to Lisbon, the capital city of Portugal. Overnight in Lisbon.

Day 7 – Lisbon

This morning after breakfast enjoy a tour of Lisbon city. Drive along the Expo Section which is a great place to discover the creativity of some of the best known architects of the world. We also visit Black Horse Square, Belem Section, stop by Jeronimos Monastery and visit of the church, Belem Tower – we encourage you to try their famous Egg tarts! In the afternoon we complete our visit to Lisbon with a drive to the Monument of Discoveries, Rossio Squire, the medieval alleyways of Alfama Quarter and then Sao Jorge Castle.

Day 8 – Lisbon / Seville

Enjoy a smooth drive back to Spain as we continue our journey to the capital of Spain’s Andalusia region, Seville. Set off on a city tour and take in the sights of the Plaza de Toros, an impressive bullring that took several decades to construct, and the Plaza de España, a building complex that is the epitome of Spanish Renaissance Revival architecture. Visit the majestic Seville Cathedral, where the Tomb of Christopher Columbus can be found and enter the Giralda bell tower, one of the three remaining Almohad minarets in the world. At night, savour the Carrillada de Cerdo, braised Iberico Pork cheeks, well-loved by the Spanish.

Day 9 – Seville / Cordoba / Valencia

After breakfast depart for Córdoba, an important Roman city and an Islamic cultural center during the Middle Ages. Meander around the squares and alley streets in the Historic Centre of Córdoba and proceed to enter the grand Mosque- Cathedral of Córdoba also known as the Mezquita Mosque. It has remained as an impressive artistic achievement of its time for its sheer size and height of its ceilings. Depart for Valencia – check in at hotel and then rest. Tonight, tuck into some delicious Paella with white wine.

Day 10 – Valencia / Barcelona

After breakfast go on a sightseeing tour of the Valencia, where you can admire the unique Gothic exterior of the Valencia Cathedral, and take photos of the imposing Torres de Serranos, which was built along the old city walls to defend the city. We then make our way to northbound with stop for an early lunch; continue to the cosmopolitan capital of Spain’s Catalonia region – Barcelona. We arrive in time of course, to view the incomplete Church of Sagrada Familia. This church ranks as one of the most extraordinary buildings in the world.to our hotel in Barcelona.

Day 11 – Barcelona / Montserrat Tour / Barcelona

After breakfast we make our way to visit Park Guell – this park is skillfully designed and composed to bring the peace and calm that one would expect from a park. Afterwards we drop into Montserrat which is not far away and enjoy a guided tour through the Basilica and Monastery. Later in the afternoon, we enjoy some free time in Barcelona and then we will head out for our final special Flamenco dancing dinner show.

Day 12 – Barcelona / Allure of Seas Cruise

After breakfast we make our way to Las Ramblas, a tree-lined pedestrian mall that stretches 1.2km along the street in central Barcelona and enjoy a bit of free time before we board our cruise. After a quick group lunch we make our way to the port to board the gigantic Allure of the Seas cruise. After check in formalities we invite you to relax and explore this ship at your own pace and over the next week you’ll have a chance to explore the Western Mediterranean.

Day 13 – Arrive Palma De Mallorca (Spain)

The Spanish island of Mallorca offers towering mountains and dramatic cliffs rising over clear, blue water — but its hidden gem is Palma de Mallorca, the island’s capital and largest city, where you’ll find quaint historic streets, Gothic castles and gastronomic delights.

Day 14 – Arrive Provence (Marseilles, France)

France’s oldest city, Marseille blends ancient charm with Provencal beauty. In the morning, head to the fish market Quai des Belges, where trade has been going on for more than 2,600 years — stroll along the promenades and 18th-century warehouses, and grab a cafe au lait and a melon tarte from one of the cafes on the ground floor.

Day 15 – Arrive Florence/Pisa (La Spezia, Italy)

The northern Italian port city of La Spezia, on the border of Liguria and Tuscany, offers an ideal gateway to two of the country’s most famous cities: Pisa and Florence. Just one hour by car or train will bring you to Pisa, where you can check out the white-stone arches of the city’s famous leaning tower and its sister-structure, the Pisa Cathedral. Or spend your day in Florence, about two hours away by train.

Day 16 – Arrive Rome (Civitavecchia, Italy)

Day 17 – Arrive Naples (Capri, Italy)

A whole day to unwind and enjoy the facilities of this marvelous ship before we arrive back to our port of Barcelona tomorrow.

Day 19 – Barcelona / Dubai

Welcome back to Barcelona this morning! After breakfast our tour leader will assist you with your airport transfer to Barcelona airport. Our Emirates flight bound for Dubai will depart shortly after noon.

Day 20 – Dubai / Melbourne

Our flight arrives into Dubai just after midnight. After a short transit, we re-board our flight bound for home. We anticipate to arrive later tonight and hope you thoroughly enjoyed your trip!
