18 day Autumn Delights of Guilin, Zhangjiajie & Jiangxi

Day 1 - HOME/BEIJING

This evening, we board our Air China flight bound for Guilin airport with a stopover in Beijing along the way.

Day 2 - BEIJING/GUILIN

We anticipate to arrive into Guilin this morning and our trusty local guide will be on hand to greet us. After our first lunch together, we regroup and head to Reed Flute Cave - a famous limestone cave in Guilin known for its dramatic stalactites, stalagmites, and colorful illuminated rock formations. It offers a short, scenic underground walk and is one of the city’s most popular natural attractions. Back to the hotel in the afternoon for check in and rest.

Day 3 - GUILIN

After breakfast, visit Daxu Ancient Town before returning to the city. After lunch, continue to Guihai Qinglan by electric vehicle and explore the Elephant Trunk Hill Scenic Area. Then view the exterior of Prince’s City and its city gate, and finish with a stroll through the East–West Alley Pedestrian Street for free time to arrange your own dinner.

Day 4 - GUILIN / YANGSHUO

This morning, we travel to Yangshuo and enjoy a scenic Li River cruise with electric vehicle service included. A buffet lunch will be served on board, giving you time to relax and enjoy the views along the river. In the afternoon, enjoy some free time on West Street before dinner. In the evening, attend the famous Impression Liu Sanjie show, one of the highlights of the region.

Day 5 - YANGSHUO

Following breakfast, take a leisurely bus tour through the breathtaking landscapes of the Ten-Mile Gallery before embarking on an unforgettable Yulong River cruise aboard traditional 8-person bamboo rafts. After a delightful lunch, immerse yourself in the picturesque scenery at Shiwaitaoyuan (Land of Idyllic Beauty), then sit back and relax on your coach as you return to Yangshuo for a peaceful evening.

Day 6 - YANGSHUO / FENGHUANG ANCIENT TOWN

After breakfast, travel by coach to the breathtaking Fenghuang Ancient Town and upon arrival, a walking tour to take in the town's stunning historic architecture as you explore key landmarks including the iconic Nanhua Gate and Hongqiao (Rainbow Bridge). Following dinner, experience the magic of the evening with a specially arranged "Xiang Jian · Tuo River" immersive night boat ride, watching the lantern-lit riverside come alive.

Day 7 - FENGHUANG / FURONG TOWN / ZHANGJIAJIE

This morning, we explore the historic Furong Town, highlighted by a visit to the magnificent Wangcun Waterfall, a stunning cascade set amidst a dramatic natural landscape. In the afternoon, we journey onward to Zhangjiajie to check in to our hotel and unwind, resting up in preparation for the breathtaking mountain scenery ahead.

Day 8 - ZHANGJIAJIE

Tour Tianmen Mountain Scenic Area, including the cable car ride, glass skywalk, and other scenic highlights. The mountain offers dramatic views, fresh air, and a memorable experience throughout the day. In the evening, visit the 72 Wonder Towers, a striking cultural and architectural attraction that adds variety to the day.

Day 9 - ZHANGJIAJIE

Our tour of Zhangjiajie continues beginning with an ascent via the record-breaking Bailong Elevator (during October peak season wait times can be up to 60 minutes). Take in the staggering natural architecture of the No. 1 Bridge Under Heaven, the sweeping vistas of Mihun Platform, and the tranquil beauty of Helong Park and the West Sea. Descend via the Tianzi Mountain cable car, then continue to the crystalline waters of Golden Whip Stream and the picturesque Ten-Mile Gallery, where you will enjoy a relaxing mini-train ride amidst the towering peaks. This is truly one of the most iconic and unforgettable landscape days of the entire journey.

Day 10 - ZHANGJIAJIE / CHANGSHA

After breakfast, we visit the iconic Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon Glass Bridge—a record-breaking suspension bridge stretching 430 meters long and suspended 300 meters high above the dramatic canyon below. (Note: Our visit focuses entirely on experiencing the glass bridge itself, bypassing the extensive walking trails of the deeper canyon route). In the afternoon, we transfer by coach to Changsha to settle in for the next stage of our journey.

Day 11 - CHANGSHA

This morning we visit Orange Isle, Aiwan Pavilion, Yuelu Mountain, and Yuelu Academy. These attractions combine scenic views, cultural history, and a pleasant urban environment. It is a balanced day that offers both nature and heritage in Changsha, with enough variety to keep the day interesting and enjoyable.

Day 12 - CHANGSHA / NANCHANG / JIUJIANG

After our breakfast, we depart Changsha and head to the Hunan Provincial Museum, which is one of the region’s most important cultural attractions and a good place to learn about local history. Following lunch, board a train bound for Nanchang, where your luggage will be handled separately for a seamless journey. Upon arrival, we continue by coach to Jiujiang.

Day 13 - JIUJIANG / LUSHAN / JIUJIANG

In the morning, we continue to Lushan Mountain for a full day of sightseeing in one of Jiangxi’s most famous scenic areas. The visit includes the round-trip cable car and eco-bus, making it easy to enjoy the mountain’s beautiful landscapes and fresh air. Along the way, explore Huajing Path, Ruqin Lake, Meilu Villa, Hanpo Pass, Lulin Lake, and Kuling Street, each offering a different mix of natural beauty, history, and mountain charm. After a rewarding day of sightseeing, transfer to Jiujiang for hotel check-in and an overnight stay.

Day 14 - JIUJAING / JINGDEZHEN / WUYUAN

Today we travel to Jingdezhen, a city renowned for its rich ceramic heritage and traditional porcelain culture. Explore the Ancient Kiln Folk Custom Expo Area for an interactive pottery-throwing experience and a unique porcelain music performance, followed by visits to the Imperial Kiln Scenic Area and the artistic Taoxichuan Cultural & Creative District. Afterward, we continue onward to Wuyuan to tour the enchanting Wunvzhou scenic area and settle in for the evening.

Day 15 - WUYUAN / WANGXIAN VALLEY

After breakfast, we visit the breathtaking Huangling Scenic Area in Wuyuan, taking the round-trip cable car to admire its famous terraced fields, vibrant autumn harvest displays, the charming Cliff Village, and the thrilling glass suspension bridge. Afterward, we continue onward to Wangxian Valley to take in its dramatic canyon landscapes and evening scenery.

Day 16 - WANGXIAN VALLEY / LONGHU MOUNTAIN / NANCHANG

After breakfast we travel to Longhu Mountain, a destination known for its scenic beauty and rich Taoist heritage. Visit Tianshi Mansion and Shangqing Ancient Town, then enjoy a boat tour of Xianshui Rock to take in the surrounding landscape. You will also watch the hanging coffin performance, one of the area’s most unique cultural highlights. After the visit, return to Nanchang and check in, ready for the final departure the following day.

Day 17 - NANCHANG / BEIJING

For our final day, we explore the cultural and historic highlights of Nanchang, visiting the iconic Tengwang Pavilion Scenic Area and the vibrant Wanshou Palace Historic District. Enjoy free time for shopping and lunch at your own expense along the bustling Zhongshan Road, lined with everything from modern malls to local boutiques and delicious eateries. In the mid-afternoon, we transfer to Nanchang Airport for our evening flight back to Beijing. There will be a short transit at Beijing airport before boarding your flight home.
